18-year-old Israeli Woman Seriously Wounded in Suspected Terror Stabbing; Assailant Killed

An 18-year-old Israeli woman was seriously wounded in the central Israeli city of Ramle in a suspected terror stabbing on Friday.

She was taken to the Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Medical Center while conscious. The assailant, Saed Abu Ghanem, a resident of the nearby city of Lod, was shot dead by a passerby who witnessed the attack.

Police said that the circumstances and background to the incident are being investigated. The assailant attacked the 18-year-old, who was in town visiting a friend, at the entrance to a building. He was then shot while fleeing the scene.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was involved in a car accident while returning from a visit to the scene of the stabbing and was lightly wounded.

Ben-Gvir was taken to hospital along with his daughter, one of his security guards, and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident. They are all in light condition.
